Ask him to give you the general information you need to buy home (e.g., laws or hidden fees related to tax, mortgage insurance, mortgage interest, strata, RRSP tax exemption, etc). Also, ask him if you really need a mortgage broker. Usually, the best mortgage rates of banks can be found online, and your own bank might be willing to match the rate. Always consider that you yourself should decide what you want to buy. The realtors can give you the information. But, you should make the final decision and you are responsible for that. You cannot fully leave it to the realtors. If you want to get the best outcome, you need to have some knowledge and know the market.
